I must admit that I’m starting to find my holiday spirit. Maybe it’s because I’ve officially been in my new place for a week so it’s starting to feel like “mine,” maybe it’s because of the major temperature drop and first snow we saw in Michigan this weekend, or maybe it’s the Christmas music I was playing on my drive home from work last week finally starting to sink in, but I was starting to find myself getting into this time of year.
The last couple of weeks have been stressful and scary on so many levels and while I don’t want it to seem like I’m over it and have moved on and just “accepted” the reality of the situation, it’s nice that amidst some of that chaos, it is still possible to find the spirit that lives in this time of year.
And while we’re talking about that time of year, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I am wishing for and what I may like to give those on my list. Sometimes it can be really difficult to figure out what to get the people who seem to have anything and finding the perfect gift means getting a bit more creative or finding something a bit uncommon, if you will.
I am thankful to have teamed up with my friends at Uncommon Goods to come up with some unique and amazing gifts for everyone on your list. Are you ready?

Literary Scarves
How fun are these? Scarves are my absolute favorite and if it works with the outfit, I will wear one. It’s part accessory and part necessity in my cold office. Plus, they’re also perfect for my fellow book lovers! Find more great gift ideas for the women in your life on this page.
Make Your Own Hot Sauce Kit
Now, I’ll be honest, this is not my kind of gift. I put a couple sprinkles of chili flakes in my soup over the weekend and quickly was wishing I hadn’t. My heat tolerance is abysmal but dad loves spicy food and I couldn’t help but laugh when the waitress asked if it was okay that the dressing on his salad was going to have a “bit of a kick” when they were in town helping me. Puh-lease, that’s probably why he picked it! Find more great gift ideas for the men in your life at Uncommon Goods.
Hand Painted Hummingbird Feeder
Even though I may not like birds, I understand the beauty of hummingbirds and the desire to have them in your yard. I know my mom is always happy when they show up in hers, and my grandmother’s caregivers always open the blinds so my grandmother can check out all of the birds at the bird feeder while she eats her breakfast. It’s the simple pleasures and this hand painted feeder is gorgeous! Find more great gift ideas for mom here.
Now whether you’re looking for a gift for baby, a cute ornament for the kids, a toy for your pup, a fun white elephant gift or other stocking stuffers, I can promise you can find something for everyone at Uncommon Goods!
