You know how there’s always that song that you hear it and can’t help but sing along? That was me the first time I hear “Unlove You” by Jennifer Nettles. Whether or not you’re a country fan, this song is powerful and you hear it in her voice, the lyrics, and the accompanying music. It’s the kind of song that makes me wish I could get up on a stage and sing again, or like I was still in college and picking a song to sing for one of my classes. This would be it, hands down.

Music aside, I hope everyone had a good weekend. Friday night I joined my yoga studio for a Yoga in the Orchard event, followed by a hard cider and chatting with my fellow blogger friend, Mindy. It was about 90* and minus the humidity, just about as hot as the studio. Regardless, it was a fun evening and I hope they do this again because I loved it!

Then Saturday and Sunday my parents were around to celebrate Father’s Day. We went to dinner Saturday night, walked around the GR Downtown Market and got coffee Sunday morning, and then grabbed lunch before they left Sunday afternoon. It was a quick trip but it was nice to see them and catch up for a bit.

The rest of my weekend was the usual errands, awesome workouts, blogging, and making sure I don’t melt in the insane heat. I have a small air conditioner in my place which I’ll run for short cycles to cool my apartment down, but not too long because…well…#girlonabudget. 😉

I also have to admit that I’m really excited about my garden and have been able to start enjoying fresh lettuce and basil!

How was your weekend?

Are you a country music fan?

I am a GIANT Jennifer Nettles fan. Her 3 Days in Bed song off that album is my favorite (don’t tell Evie – HAHA!). We used to see her before Sugarland every NYE in a small listening room in Atlanta. Hr old solo stuff rocked too. THEN I saw the first ever show Sugarland played, elbows on the stage in a dive. There weren’t but 30 or so people in the room… no one knew who they were! She’s such a sweet person; I’m so glad she finally made it. Worked her ass off!

Sounds like a great weekend! I need to get to an outdoor yoga class. We have one on Saturdays for free, but I just need to get there one of these weekends. Glad you got to spend time with your family too.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! I grew up on a farm and was surrounded by a community of country-music-lovers. I enjoyed it for a long time, but am not really a fan anymore. There are a lot of songs that make me feel nostalgic when I hear them, so I don’t DISlike country music, it’s just not my preferred genre anymore. I can appreciate it though! 🙂
