I hope you’re all having a great weekend! Since I’m writing this ahead of time, I can’t tell you exactly how my weekend is going but I’m sure I’m having a grand ol’ time with my Blends and will have some fun to share with you next week. 🙂
One of the things we had on the agenda for the weekend was a group run…in the cold. And just in case I hadn’t already convinced you I’m not afraid of running in the cold, I set out on another cold weather run Friday. Turns out, it was colder than Tuesday’s run…
It was an awesome run! I ran a bit slower than normal but it felt great and I had fun! Once I got home, I was ready for a quick snack to refuel and despite the cold of outside, I wanted nothing more than a smoothie.
And this is not your ordinary smoothie – this tasted like a freaking vanilla blueberry milkshake!
Vanilla Blueberry Protein Milkshake
document.write(”);
Ingredients (serves 1)
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (I used Trader Joes vanilla)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used FitMixer)
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup ice
- splash of water
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend. Sip. Smile. 🙂
Enjoy!
How’s your weekend going?
What are your favorite post cold-weather workout refuel snacks?

Love the looks of this! I just bought some frozen blackberries, and I can’t wait to make a blackberry smoothie pretty soon. I love how much fiber berries have!
Blend. Sip. Smile. <- LOVE it! And heck yeah, you go girl! I swear even when I was really big into running, I could never stand to run in the cold! Such a pansy!
That smoothie looks good. I’ll have to keep it around for summer when it warms up. I have to be honest… I’m a bit jealous of your Blend reunion!! 😉
That shake sounds great! Definitely pinning it so I can try it soon!
Funny that you were craving a cold smoothie after a cold run! The blueberry vanilla combo is definitely a winner. I’ve been craving more citrus-y type stuff lately. As soon as I walk in the door from the gym, I want an orange. So I’ll usually grab that along with a handful of nuts to hold me over until I make a real meal. 🙂
