We Were Us

It’s been a crazy and busy weekend filled with lots of this:

And since our internet isn’t getting set up until tomorrow, I made sure to spend some of my final moments with internet preparing this post for you.  You’re welcome. 🙂

Saturday night I was driving around crabby really for no reason at all but I was crabby anyway.  I headed out for a couple of errands before coming back to my parents house to finish packing a few things, fold laundry and get a good night’s sleep before a 9 miler Sunday morning.  This song came on the radio and caught me off guard.  My crabbiness was put on hold, I found myself dancing and singing along in my car and as I pulled into a parking spot at Hobby Lobby, I realized I wasn’t as crabby as I had been only a few moments before.

photo-337I am the girl that grew up on country and while I am a self-proclaimed music snob, I enjoyed this song.  It’s one of those songs you want to hear as you’re driving around (check!) probably with the windows rolled down and the wind blowing through your hair.  Two out of the three is close enough, right?

How was your weekend?

What kind of music do you like to listen to while driving?

Ahhh, I LOVE it when a good song pops me out of a bad mood! I love anything that I can sing along to at the top of my lungs…and I have to admit, for the last couple of weeks, it’s been all about some Bon Jovi over here! God, I love that man’s voice!

SO WEIRD. This morning I got into my car post-gym, and I was tired and feeling a bit unsettled about everything on my plate, but this song came on and all of a sudden, I was bouncing and happy and wondering how quickly I could get my hands on it. 🙂

I cleaned comforters, spending quality time at a laundromat watching comforters spin and reading Poe. However, I am not done cleaning the second floor of my house. You’re welcome to come over. 🙂
    Bring a strawberry shake.

I love alternative/rock when I’m driving but I switch between that and pop. I know, I know but I don’t discriminate when it comes to music. I love hearing my kids sing all the pop songs. The only think I can’t stand is R&B… ew.

I’ve been doing the moving and cleaning thing for the last week too – glad it’s over with now haha. When I was in high school, my friend and I would drive around with the windows down and Jack Johnson blaring. It’s still what I do when I’m having an “eh” day – hop in the car, put some Jack on the stereo, and find a scenic place to drive. (And then I text my friend to tell him I’m doing that because it still feels like “our thing.”)
