Weekly Workout Wednesday #15

How’s everyone’s week going? I have to admit, I’m ready for the weekend. This weekend I’m taking a workshop for some continuing education for my yoga certification and I’m really excited about it. It’s all about yoga and trauma, which I think is going to be quite fascinating and I hope gives me an initial peak into all of the potential avenues I can take with yoga should I choose. It’s an exciting space to dive into.

Before I get to talking about workouts, I have a question…
What do you want to see more of from me this year? Whether on the blog, social media, etc…Let me know in the comments!

At the end of last week I decided to sign up for the Studio Tone It Up app while it was on a super sale. I had used the app to see the posted Daily Moves but not to do the filmed workouts. I will be honest, it’s a little weird that I can only start class at the designated time (note: there are also On Demand videos so that’s not totally the case, just for that day’s “schedule”) but I’ve found that not having the choice to “pause” the workout pushes me through to get it done quicker and more focused. I’ve really been enjoying it and would recommend it if anyone is looking for a fitness app to try!

Now onto my workout for the week last week….

Monday 12/31:
Step count: 9,651
2 mile run
20 minute full-body circuit

Tuesday 1/1:
Step count: 10,307
1 min run / 1 min walk for 25 minutes
TIU Sunset HIIT 15

Wednesday 1/2:
Step count: 7,426
10 minute walk
TIU daily moves

Thursday 1/3:
Step count: 13,362
2.5 mile run
TIU Box ‘N Booty
Taught 2 yoga classes

Friday 1/4:
Step count: 7,246
Rest
Taught 1 yoga class

Saturday 1/5:
Step count: 6,493
(FitBit was dead for the first few hours of my day)
60 minute Power Yoga

Sunday 1/6:
Step count: 8,353
1.5 mile run
60 minute Power Yoga
Taught 1 yoga class

What do you want to see more of from me this year?
Do you use any fitness apps? What are your favorites?

I’ve really come to realize that it’s all about your mindset. You either want it or you don’t, and if you don’t, that’s okay – you do you!

I really need to get moving. But this cold has my body not wanting to move at all! I love my fitbit! As far as apps go, I miss tracking everything on MyFitnessPal. It was the easiest, but Im awful about forgetting to log things. That might just be my habit to make in February. Way to go on the workouts! I would love to get into yoga. Another commitment I need to just…well, commit to!

The cold has made it hard! Even with my pup it’s hard to get outside (for either of us) with some of this cold weather!

I’d really be interested in seeing more yoga posts and hearing about your studies towards your yoga certification. There are so many courses to choose from at the studio I attend and I’m interested in learning more.
I love Strava tracking my workouts and my Garmin Vivoactive is my all time favourite thing I’ve ever gotten as a gift.

Wow! Working out on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day? You are motivating me to get off my butt and be more active. My Fitbit has been yelling at me because I haven’t been meeting my step goals. Starting tomorrow, I’m going to try to change that! 🙂

It’s a habit for me now. Also, I am all about wanting to start the new year the way I want to feel that year, so I go to bed when I’m tired on New Year’s Eve and wake up early New Years Day and start my day like I would any other. I did this several years ago when I had to work early on New Year’s Day and it was such a game changer that now it’s my choice!

I’d love to see more yoga and deep breathing meditations from you this year. I say that because I would like to incorporate those into my life this year and having a blog friend who has her own series, well it might be the kickstart I need!

Lol I’m charging my Fitbit now; I always hate when batteries run low. Like these steps should be counted! Lol. Hope you’re having a great week, my friend.
