With the pup in my life now, it’s not too difficult to hit my step goal everyday. ha! This dog loves going on walks so it’s a good thing that I do too. We got hit with some pretty cold weather this weekend and that poor pup couldn’t get his long walks in. We went out for a quick loop so he could get his business done, but he definitely could have kept going if I would have let him!
When we don’t have to worry about sheets of ice or negative degree temps, I hope to take him on runs with me. My plan is to work him up to it, starting with shorter runs or intervals, but building him up to a 3-4 mile run. I think it’ll be nice to have the company during some of my training runs. We have some leash training to do still so this may also have to wait until we get him a little better on the leash, but hopefully this will also help burn some of that pup energy!

How was your training this past week? Did you get hit with this cold front too?

Your step count is amazing! Seriously – over 21,000 steps on Saturday is awesome.
So glad pup likes his walks and doesn’t mind the cold 🙂

We have some work to do with his tugging on the leash, but otherwise, I really enjoy taking him on long walks and listening to an audiobook or podcast while we go.
OMG, I missed it. DID YOU GET A DOG?! Eeeep, so exciting!! And pups are incredible for exercise. Buster was getting up there in age, so he wasn’t able to go on long walks like he used to, but they are such wonderful companions for walks/runs!
Always love to read your workouts. You are helping me keep track of my steps, too!
Yes, I did!! It’s only been about a week and a half and it’s been a CHALLENGE but we’re getting there and I’m hoping will be adjusting soon.
I’m glad to hear the pup likes to be outside, I have friends with dogs who as soon as the mercury dips below 30 degrees are like, nope. I’m not going out there. I don’t care how much I need to go. I’ll stay inside thank you. LOL
haha! He seemed a little unsure at first but seems to have quickly come around to hopping through the snow. There was only one day when we went out for him to do his business where we were immediately back inside. But when we went out later that day (when I think it was actually COLDER), he seemed ready for an even longer walk.
The cold kept me off the trails last night. A puppy can spur you on to fitness, for sure. I have a fish tank with two tetras and a danio, so …
I’m already pretty into fitness but he’s helping me get out and walk a lot more because I need HIM to burn off some puppy energy!
