Weekly Workouts #27

7 Comments on Weekly Workouts #27

I took the last month off from sharing these Weekly Workout posts. I wasn’t sure they were actually providing much value to anyone, so why share if they were just for me? But then, I found that I missed having these check-ins; I missed the accountability they brought for me, even as someone who works out because she enjoys it. With that said, I also had a few people reach out and tell me how these posts help keep them motivated in their workouts or that it motivated them to find new ways to move. I realized that this are making an impact and honestly, even if it’s just for myself, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. In this great big blogging world, I’m sure there are many bloggers who would tell me if it’s not providing great value or if I can’t optimize the content, it’s not worth my time…but if it’s helping ME, I think that counts the same. So they’re back, at least as long as it feels good to me.

With that said, if there is something more you’d like to see out of these posts, please let me know in the comments!

I hope to use this space as a place to checkin with my weekly workouts, talk about the current program or training I’m following, what’s feeling good and what’s not, and any other things that seem fitting related to my workout training. Maybe once and awhile, that could also include a workout…we’ll see.

I've been thinking a lot lately about my personal yoga practice (or really, lack thereof)… . There are poses that I want to get better at, that I want to feel more comfortable teaching and doing myself, that I want to "master" so to speak… . But here's the thing, if I want to get better at a pose then I better practice. The more I don’t do it, the further I’ll get from my goal of achieving that. So why am I not doing it? It's a good question, right? 🤔 . It’s time to stop making up excuses for myself. It’s time to tap back into my inner student. It’s time to tap into my own practice. That's a goal for May. Find my practice again and know that this not only makes me a better student of yoga, but it also makes me a better teacher. . Is there an area of your life where you're trying to learn and grow and need to re-focus your energy? Let's hold one another accountable. I got you.

Number 1: We blog for ourselves so that’s justification enough to post stuff like this. Number 2: Your info is helpful to others; seeing what you do gives us something to measure our own efforts against.

I had noticed you stopped sharing them, I’m glad they are back, I definitely find myself motivated when I see what other people do for workouts!

I am always motivated by these posts so I’m glad to hear you’ll be continuing them. I know what you mean—in this super saturated space it’s easy to feel like of we’re not optimizing or getting paid for posts, there is no purpose but I think the opposite is true. You share with your readers your true authentic self, regardless of traffic or any other metric, and bc it’s something you love ❤️
