Another week has come and gone and I can hardly believe it. I’m starting to feel like I say that every week…and I probably do. There’s so much to do, so much I want to do, so many people I want to see, so many things I want to enjoy, it’s crazy! For whatever reason when Friday comes around, that’s when I’m reminded of how quickly the weeks are passing.
The good news is that despite running around like chickens with our heads chopped off at times, Sam and I have also been trying to find some time to unwind and relax. I know many people probably think this is all fun and games to “travel” the country for a year but there’s a lot of planning, logistics, and finances that go into pulling off something like this and to say we’re busy and will continue to be busy over the next year is an understatement. So when we can take a few minutes, put our phones down and enjoy roasting marshmallows (from our favorite place Ethereal Confections!) over the bonfire and just chatting, it’s absolutely amazing.
My friends joked about the joy on my face and it’s real…I was so happy and excited and for the hour we sat by the fire, I enjoyed every moment to just breathe. We’re going to do some amazing things over this next year but if we don’t take these moments to relax and breathe, then we’ll end up giving ourselves ulcers with the stress and craziness.

Waking up for CrossFit this week was hard and I only made it to 5:30am one day, gave myself an extra rest day another, but pushed myself each one. My body is sore but feeling strong and I’m proud of myself for hitting a new PR and being the best athlete I can be each day.
