WIAW / Smoothie Edition

With the weather getting warmer, my cravings for smoothies are getting stronger and honestly, I’m okay with that.  Smoothies are tasty, refreshing, versatile and so easy to make and lately, one of my favorite mid-morning snacks!  With that, I thought it’d be fun to share some of favorite smoothies.

After participating in last year’s FitMixer Bootcamp, I’m still making my way through the giant bag of protein powder I received but I’ve also had the opportunity to try a new to me protein from  BioPharma called NanoPro.  We carry the whole line of Nano products at work and it’s been cool to really learn about these products and test them out.

photo-287This smoothie was made with NanoPro, NanoGreens, coconut water, strawberries and 1/2 a frozen banana + crushed ice.  What an incredible combo!  This was the first time I used coconut water in my smoothie and it won’t be the last – so good!!

I often add greens to my smoothies but it was fun to do something different.  This combo was 1/2 frozen banana, strawberries and a small peach with water, almond milk and protein powder.  I wanted another!

Hungry yet?  Here’s a few more smoothie recipes I’ve shared over the last several months:

For a week or so I was totally down with the smoothie thing. I finally ‘got it.’ For some reason I have now become too lazy to make them. Why it feels like a big deal to throw some frozen stuff into a blender is beyond me. I think because the blender I currently have to work with is old and not very efficient and pureeing frozen bananas and ice. New blender needed?

We just started carrying them at my office – Nano Pro is a protein powder and Nano Greens are literally that – greens but they’re made in such a way that our bodies are best able to absorb their nutrients. Plus they taste SO good!

I’m super into smoothies right now. I had a great one for breakfast today 1 cup coconut water, 1/2 cup raspberries, 1 scoop Sunwarrior vanilla protein powder, frozen banana, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 tbsp milled flaxseed, topped off with more rasps and chia. So so good. I’m also loving sneaky chocolate green smoothies where I make a green smoothie with banana, almond milk and chia/flax/hemp, spinach and add unsweetened cocoa powder. It’s like chocolate heaven in a drink.

YUM! I often use peanut butter in my smoothies but I’ve never tried peanut flour – good idea!
